S4C Movember!

Rob Dyer and Skate 4 Cancer are lobbying as part of the Aviva Community Fund for funding to create a youth space in the city of Toronto to lend support to youth dealing with cancer and their projects and events.

Skate4Cancer on MTV News

Skate4Cancer has joined an online competition called the Aviva Community Fund. Essentially they’re giving away a significant amount of money to help build a space for an organization in the community.  S4C have joined in the hopes of getting funding for a space in downtown Toronto for S4C. This would serve as an office and a retail space. However the most important usage is that it will be a drop-in centre for the S4C community to come, educate themselves about healthy lifestyle choices, talk to our volunteers about battles they or their loved ones may be having, and meet others.

We’re hoping for your vote, and that you might be willing to help us spread the word about voting for Skate4Cancer. The space we’ve applied for fits in the “big” category, between $50,000-$250,000 worth of funding.

It’s a very simple process – if you could go to the following link, read through our idea, and cast your vote. There is a very quick registration that needs to be done. http://www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf1885

Skate4Cancer was born out of love and a dream. In 2003 we got a call from a kid in Toronto. He liked C1RCA’s and was planning a skate trip across North America to raise money for cancer awareness. Could we send him a box of shoes? Rob Dyer would eventually skate across most of North America for his non profit group Skate4Cancer who’s goal is to raise awareness and funds for cancer research and prevention. Proceeds from the sale of C1RCA x Skate4Cancer products will go to Princess Margaret Hospital, who’s research is on the cutting edge of cancer prevention. Dream . Love . Cure.
